Entre \u201cPipetas y Mazos\u201d es una obra acad\u00e9mica que compila 75 reflexiones sobre la relaci\u00f3n entre la\u00a0\u00a0Ciencia y el Derecho. Es una recopilaci\u00f3n de contribuciones para el programa de radio Mundo Forense, \u00a0donde se ofrecen los avances m\u00e1s significativos del \u00e1rea. Implicando la cr\u00edtica de las etapas de investigaci\u00f3n, proceso, y veredicto auxiliadas por la ciencia, o lo que m\u00e1s se le parezca.<\/p>\n

\u00a0La ciencia forense es un campo sui-generis. Es la ciencia aplicada al problema de asegurar justicia utilizando la mejor evidencia posible. Por tanto, es un \u00e1rea multidisciplinar nutrida por diversas especialidades, algunas de longeva tradici\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica y desarrollo epist\u00e9mico. Sin embargo, la ciencia forense naci\u00f3 pr\u00e1cticamente a principios del siglo XX, por lo que internacionalmente y por pericial muestra avances divergentes. Su objeto de estudio son los hechos ocurridos en el pasado reciente, producidos sin control de variables, con datos escasos, incompletos e incluso fr\u00e1giles; y pese a toda dificultad, se exigen respuestas r\u00e1pidas, que concluir\u00e1n afectando la vida de los involucrados y el tejido social. Todo esto en un ambiente dominado por el protocolo legal, por tanto, las decisiones \u00faltimas no provendr\u00e1n de conocedores de la ciencia, sino del Derecho. El perfil profesional de los jueces, fiscales, ministerios p\u00fablicos y abogados tradicionalmente se ha construido alej\u00e1ndose de los relacionados a las matem\u00e1ticas, f\u00edsica, qu\u00edmica y biolog\u00eda, y viceversa. Con todo, hoy en d\u00eda, muchas controversias judiciales deben resolverse mediante la colaboraci\u00f3n de toda clase de saberes, es ah\u00ed donde la ciencia auxilia a la decisi\u00f3n final; no como un ayudante adicional, m\u00e1s bien como quien salva la situaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed la Ciencia debe socorrer al Derecho.<\/p>\n

\u00a0As\u00ed, todos debemos poner atenci\u00f3n a la ciencia forense; pues si lo adecuado es medicar al \u00f3rgano que necesita sanar; igualmente, se necesita m\u00e1s ciencia en el sistema de justicia.<\/p>\n
